January in a Nutshell

February 1st, 2010 at 04:11 pm

January's over. Yay!!!

So how did I do?

Sodas for the month = 53
That's fewer than 2/day

Purge 30 things in 30 days = 49
I completely forgot to keep track of the score.

20 Dollar Challenge = $244
Rebates, sale of CDs, 1 & 5 dollar bills that I try to never spend.

Family Cookbook - Got all my recipes into the Cookbook software. Next, I have to start formatting the "look" of the cookbook.
And I promise I'll post a few recipes in February.

Personal Loan - Paid $163 extra

Mortgage - Paid $100 extra

Groceries - $280 Guess I still need to work on this one.

Still too much snow and ice to be riding or driving my horse. Praying for an early Spring.

Good Times at the Mailbox

January 12th, 2010 at 01:11 am

Let me try this again.

I had to make a run to the city today to run some errands. Stopped at the mailbox on my way home and found no one, but two rebate checks!

Both from HughesNet. One for $100 and one for $40. The big one gets added to my 20 Dollar Challenge and the little one will get Mountain Man and myself 2 tickets to the Draft Horse competition at the National Western Stock Show on the 23rd.
I'm stoked!

Brings Challenge to $115 for the month.

Wednesday Ramblings

January 7th, 2010 at 03:45 am

I've spent the last couple of days working on my cookbook. It's a collection of my favorite recipes that I plan to give to my niece and great-nieces for Christmas this year. A time-consuming project, to be sure, but it's fun to do.

I added $7 to my 20 dollar challenge today.
Brings my total for the month to $15.

It's snowing. We're only supposed to get a couple of inches, but tomorrow's high will be 17 degrees. A good excuse to stay in and not spend any money.
